With success contributed to its high calibre team, customer first approach and seamless product sourcing and distribution service it also translated trends and develops innovative products to the needs of their retail accounts, like no other. This remarkable “people first” business is now seeking a National Account & Product Development Manager to head up one of their largest high volume, retail accounts with a focus on product development and sourcing of the retailers “seasonal” and “event” driven campaigns. There seriously couldn’t be a better time to join.
What will you do in an average week? In this pivotal, incredibly high-profile role you will drive sales growth and profitability through “first class” account and relationship management in your retail account/s by consistently developing, sourcing and delivering innovative product and ranging solutions that drives market differentiation. Whilst strong account management and project management will be a key focus, as will traveling to Shanghai a couple of times a year, overseeing global product development and sourcing and ensuring to consistently develop and introduce new, on-trend, seasonally and event driven products tailored to meet your accounts needs. Managing costings from concept through to “on shelf” will naturally be a key part of this role as will overseeing the full lifecycle of new product launches and category expansions, on time and to budget.
Here’s what it will take: - You are proven and experienced:
You have had a ‘like for like’ role as National Account Manager, Product Development Manager, Buyer, Category Manager (or similar) in the Australian FMCG retail sector and have gained this experience from either the retailer or supplier side. You therefore have a solid understanding of category management and retail principles, as well as have an in-depth knowledge of private label development and sourcing. Those candidates who have been responsible for managing and sourcing for large, high volume retail accounts, will be viewed favourably
- Category experience: All ‘non-food’ product development experience will be considered. This opportunity, however, leans to more an FMCG/General Merchandise background
- An unmatched eye for trends and a natural enthusiasm for bringing innovative, high value, quality and competitively priced products to market and you surprise and delight your customers every time

and therefore have a deep understanding of the financial levers and costings across all aspects

you have an innate ability to leverage these strengths and skills to influence, deliver and drive profitable outcomes that are highly sustainable
- You are professionally mature:
you inspire confidence, are incredibly commercial, and are always in it for ‘the team’
- You have always demonstrated sound judgment:
in anticipating challenges, problem-solving, and seeking the right resources to resolve issues
- You have an incredibly high attention to detail and strong project management skills:
whilst being agile and flexible
- Travel: you have the flexibility travel to China a number of times a year for 7-10 day periods
