What will you do in an average week
  • Initially…you will listen, watch and learn, as you immerse yourself deep into the in-depth induction program and get to know the business, stores and teams from every angle and aspect, likely over multiple sites
  • Once fully inducted, you will step into your role as the Store Manager for their new Griffith location, and be responsible for leading, developing and growing this new store (and team within). More specially this will see you:
    • take on the full 'end to end' store accountability for driving sales, building customer relationships, managing store KPI’s and promotions and ensuring merchandising standards are at a superior level
    • influencing, motivating, developing and inspiring your team to deliver an exceptional retail experience to every customer, creating loyalty for life
    • be consistently improving current systems, processes and control measures to ensure full retail operational excellence
    • continually building on and developing the store culture, ensuring to always celebrate the wins and awesome retail/team efforts. Having fun and ensuring there is a strong culture of fun, is an essential part of your role!
    • building a profile for the store via the "supporting of" and "involvement in" local community activities
    • leveraging your solid retail skills to ensure the fundamentals are exceptionally executed, including full stock on shelf, cleanliness, customer service, VM and loss prevention
    • communicate effectively and positively with the store team to execute change initiatives and implement new ideas (whether yours or that of your team). You will be empowered to run this store like it’s your own!
Here’s what it will take:
  • You are a credible and engaging Store Manager with proven experience in a medium to large format retailer 
  • Nice to have, is some experience or an affinity/appreciation of hardware/tools (whether in your career or personal interest) however it’s not an absolute essential requirement. We are looking for the talented retail ‘big box’ operative vs a product expert!
  • You inspire: You have led and inspired retail teams to achieve success
  • You are customer obsessed: they are centric to everything you do and in every decision, you make
  • You drive sales with an upbeat approach and have a natural ability to engage
  • You have well-honed operational skills across inventory planning and management, as well as shrewd financial control
  • Leadership ability:  You inspire with ease, and you can drive and lead change. You are one of those leaders that always have their people and partners, always on your journey
  • You are driven: You have endless drive, determination and commitment that inspires others, and you are always ‘in it for the team’
  • Sound business acumen:  You understand P&L’s and the financial levers across all areas
  • Brilliant communication skills: You naturally translate the ‘vision’ into day-to-day operational performance
  • You are a change agent: You can transform key operational aspects and people elements to ensure sustainability, future viability, growth and profitability
  • You are authentic and down to earth: this oozes from your every pore
  • You take a non-hierarchical approach: you are just as prepared and comfortable getting your hands dirty as much as you are performing the strategic aspects of the role
